Love The Code

I really do love programming. Everything that you must do to get a program to work has to be hand written and put into a logical listing and process, then compiled into machine language to run as a set of instructions. It's so beautiful and pure once you get it all nailed down. It's also fun to put everything together like a puzzle and see it run. I like to make programs for everything I do on the computer. I'm a believer that the computer should do the work for you, not make you work around it. So, whenever I find myself doing one thing over and over, or using multiple programs to do one job, I like to make something that ties it together for me. One of the most ingenious things I use is a desktop scripting program. Basically, with programming knowledge, I write a script that runs and simulates mouse clicks, programs running, and keyboard keypresses. If you know how to construct the script right then it really cuts down on the work you have to do. Lately, I've been really into web programming. Not web design, I still suck at that. I'm talking about the programs that access the database, or dynamically change the content of the webpage you are viewing to match what information you are using or accessing. Those are fun. Things like JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and the AJAX technique. Very fun. Thankfully, my new job now consists of me doing just such things every day. Yeah!!!
