I realize that my blog is pathetic for doing anything on E3 coverage, but I'll list some information that I find exciting. If anyone reads this anymore. Side note, I'm thinking of moving my blog to the front of the site.
Ok, here we go:
Console Systems
PS3 - Releases on November 17th. Price point at $499 and $599. Trust me on this, you only want the $599 system. Otherwise you only get half the hardware for certain things like memory options. Don't even think about it. Also, if it's true that they are installing Linux on it as an OS, then I can turn this sucker into a TiVO box and watch some TV through it. Although, they stole Nintendo's controller, I think that is hardcore theft right there.
Nintendo Wii - Nintendo didn't set any kind of date, i don't even think they did a price point on it, but enough rumors point to $299. I think Nintendo was a bit pissed at Sony and a few other things that had happened, but they will recover because this is the system you have to own. You'll be able to download NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, and Turbo Graphix games. And play them on the revolution. Plus, it has support for Gamecube. Hang on I just had an orgasm!
Action Games
Gears of War - It'll probably kick Halo 3's ass as far as a first person shooter. Halo 3 will most likely steal some of it's ideas when it comes out. Plus, coming from an RPG guy, the story is actually really interesting, too. Nothing like post-apocalyptic sci-fi action!
Chromehounds - This is also an action game, more like a first person shooter, but you are in a mech. I should just say it's a mech game since it's not really a shooter. The best part? You can design your own mechs! Eat that up. It'll be a fun game when it comes out.
God of War 2 - You'd be a fool not to play the sequal to one of the PS2's best action/adventure genre games. God of War was an awesome greek mythos game that had puzzle elements similar to Prince of Persia. This game will take it away. Too bad it's on the PS2 and not the PS3 or 360.
Metal Gear Solid 4 - The story line to these games have been so whacked lately that I'm surprised no one has called them on it. I enjoy the tactical espionage aspect of the games. Nothing as real as how these guys do it. But, I really wish they wouldn't have the ten hour dialog. That would really happen in the military operations now would it?
RPG
Final Fantasy 12 & 13 - So, I guess they couldn't decide when to release these two, so they just released both. Not at the same time, but 12 is coming this year for PS2, and 13 is coming early next year for the PS3. That's what I hear anyway.
Enchanted Arms & Ar tonelico - I know nothing about these RPGs. But, the Ar Tonelico is actually made by Nippon Ichi software, which has made some good RPGs in the past that have had unusual flow. Plus, they spend more time on their music than most other companies, which makes it better of course.
Neverwinter Nights 2 - NWN was a computer game that was module based. Company modules designed by the developers were released with the game, but you could easily add your own content and design your own levels. That's what I got into the most. Because I'm a programmer and loved doing the scripting for the NWN game. This one takes all of it to the next level. Instead of the tile based world you now have a mesh grid that you just manipulate into hills and terrain. Orgasm!
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Those bastards held it off long enough and now it looks like it's coming. It'll be a launch title for the Nintendo Wii, but there will be a title for the Gamecube, too. This is how they get away with not doing two Zelda games at once. Just buy it and don't ask questions.
Japanese Games
99 Nights - Looks like a dynasty warriors game, but probably done better. I loved Dynasty Warriors and I'm all over this one.
Weird Games
Crysis - No idea
Mass Effect - No idea!
Spore - I said, NO IDEA! Well, this one I know a little. Apparently it looks more like a mass simulation program that scientists use to study planet life than a game. But, one time I programmed a dumb simulation that used ants. They would eat all there food and die. So, I can understand that kind of thing. I'll try it out.
