Tuesday, November 22nd. Today the gaming console system, the Microsoft X-Box 360, was released for sale. For anyone that wants one for themselves, tough titties! Where I work we sold all of our X-Boxes in about 45 minutes. Everyone was told to wait outside our gate and we let them in a few at a time to prepay for the system. Afterwards, at midnight, we let them back in with a claim ticket to get their system that they prepaid. I've never seen so many people scramble for one thing. I worked from close to midnight to opening, without any sleep. During the next day after the midnight opening people kept coming in expecting to be able to buy a system without a reservation on the system. We have been told we won't have extra systems until after Christmas. It's crazy how high demand this system is right now, and there aren't even any proven games on the system. They look good, but I want to see the system out for awhile to see what it can really do. I got excited as a programmer because when we first turned on the demo unit in the store it displayed a DOS prompt. Woot! That means it's going to be highly modable. As soon as I can use that damn thing as my own computer, I'll be happy!
